The Low Tatras - mountain range, the part of the Carpathians. These mountains are located to the south of the famous High Tatras and separated from the latter river Vah, the longest waterway in Slovakia. Low Tatras is a place of pilgrimage for many winter sports enthusiasts throughout the world, is also frequently visited by tourists in the summer. This is the second tourism destination among tourists in the country. In contrast to the neighboring mountains, Low Tatras cannot boast peak-3000m: only three peaks reach a height of two thousand meters. Despite this, the rapidly developing infrastructure, beautiful nature with rich flora and fauna, the biggest Slovak folklore festival held in July, the presence of such entertainment like water parks, thermal parks and cultural and natural attractions turn the region into a paradise for travellers.

Low Tatras are considered one of the most ecologically clean corners of Europe: the territory is almost entirely a national park. Despite the smaller height of Low Tatras, there is always enough snow cover. There are 20-30 km of well-groomed trails and good tourism infrastructure in resorts. The highest peaks of the Low Tatras are Dumbier (2043 m) and Chopok (2024 m).

In the mountains the climate is continental. The foothills are characterized by slightly lower temperatures. The average temperature in January is -6 C °, in July - about 15.8 C °.  The average annual temperature in the highest altitudes is about 0 ° C.

 Jasna is supposedly the best ski center in Eastern Europe. The resort Donovaly is yet less known on the Russian market. Ruzomberok is considered to be the best resort, where for very reasonable price you can get high level rest and service. Overall, we can recommend the Low Tatras to active skiers.
