What do you need to know before travelling abroad?

In this section is given advices and recommendations to help you while you travel.

General tips for travelers

Before going abroad we recommend You to get acquainted with the features of stay in the country, with local customs and laws, climatic conditions, characteristics of behavior in public places and elsewhere.

 

 

 

Please check if all necessary documents are prepared properly.

1. Passport. Carefully check and compare the correctness of record of all basic information (name, date of birth, gender, expiration date of passport), especially if it new passport.

Keep your passport with You, do not give it to anyone or deposited as collateral, during whole trip.

2. Availability of visas to the countries, where You will need the entry visa.

In some countries a visa for holders of Ordinary passport issued directly at the airport.

3. Travel documents for all modes of transport should be written on the same surname, which is given in the passport.  Make sure that your tour itinerary and dates of entry and exit is in full compliance with that what is written on the ticket.

4 Do not forget to take originals of travel vouchers, official invitations.

We recommend you make a photocopy of the ticket, passport pages (both foreign and domestic) with biographical data, visas, stamp of registration, driver's license (if You have such), credit cards, vouchers, invitations.

Bring a first aid kit with the most essential medicines for all occasions (headache, stomach diseases, flu and colds), and all recommended medication if You suffer from chronic diseases. 

Before leaving, carefully check accuracy of recording of all basic information: name, date of birth, gender, passport validity, especially if it is new. According to the legislation of a number of countries, this period must end no earlier than six months after the entry into the country. The document must not be damaged, stains and foreign records. While travelling abroad, keep it to yourself, do not give to anyone for storage or as collateral.

When entering the country require a visa, it is necessary to arrange in advance. If the destination you get transit through the territory of other countries are kindly requested to consult on the need for registration of transit visas, as well as the timing of their actions in view of the return date.

Tickets for all modes of transport should be written by the same name, which is specified in the passport. Check that the route of entry and exit and the date written in full conformity with the tickets. It is recommended to make a photocopy of the ticket, passport pages (both foreign and domestic) with biographical information, visa, stamped on the registration records, driver's license, credit cards, tour-voucher, invitations. Be sure to bring along a spare passport photos, including children.

 They are useful in case of loss of passport, as well as in other situations that may arise in the host country. Keep copies should be separate from the originals.

In case of travelling to the country with a hot climate and the presence of dangerous infectious diseases (hepatitis, cholera, smallpox, malaria, plague, typhoid, etc.) in a number of Asian, African and Latin American countries, you have to take sanitary precautions. It is strongly recommended to wash with soap, antiseptic fruits and vegetables, drink water, milk and juice only from a factory sealed bottle. Do not drink, please, the water from the tap!

If you go on a beach holiday, do not forget to take sunscreen, and do not spend much time under the direct rays of the sun.

We advise you during the first days of your stay does not get involved in all the local dishes at once, let your body gradually gets used to the new gastronomic loads.

Tipping - in almost all countries adopted form of payment for services. Typically 10% is added to the bills.

At the airport after arrival:

Go through passport and customs controls and get your luggage. In case of loss, damage of baggage or shortage of things, You need (before exit from the arrival hall) to appeal to the host representative and with him – appeal to the lost and found service for making the act of malfunction in baggage transportation service.
Go out from the airport and find our representative (he will hold a sign with company name and logo). Name of host side will be indicated in your travel voucher. A representative will place you in the bus, will accommodate in the hotel and will give the necessary information about staying in the country. 

In hotel:

After arriving in hotel, You should focus on domestic accommodation policy and rules of fire safety. Check-in at the hotel according to international rules carried out after 2:00 pm, check-out until 11:00 am. It is requested to observe silence after 10:00 pm.

We recommend You explore the location of entrances-exits, elevators and stairs. Documents, money and valuables is not recommended to leave in the room, better to put them in the safe-deposit box. It is advisable to take a business card of the hotel and find out how to contact with competent staff in the event of unforeseen situations.

How to behave in unexpected situations?

In case of contingencies associated with the detention of local law enforcement, threats from other people, traffic accidents, etc., you should immediately notify the Embassy or Consulate of Ukraine.

If you have become the object of provocative actions by local police or law enforcement agencies, you should strongly ask them to allow contact with the nearest Ukrainian consular office, or send there a written message about the incident. You should not resist, as this may worsen the situation and provoke special services / police to use physical force or even weapons.

Do not argue with local law enforcement authorities, and do not sign any records and other documents in a foreign language in the absence of staff Consulate of Ukraine in the host country, because such evidence in some countries may be the basis for prosecution of a crime.

On walk we recommend to go with somebody or with a group, choosing lit and crowded place, take with You map of the city. Once You are on a dark area, you should stay away from the passageways, entrances, closed with bushes places. Do not stay for long time near store windows and chat with clearly unhealthy people, vagrants, beggars. You should wait a bus or taxi on lighted bus stops.

If someone near starts to behave arrogantly or commits bullying, you should leave this place.

It is important to remember that items, which look like a weapon, immediately attract the attention not only terrorists or hooligans, but also police or private security guards. In order not to provoke these people on decisive action, do not use such things, especially in public.

You should refrain to take alcohol, soft drinks and cigarettes offered by strangers. Criminals in the organization of robberies often use such people.

Behavior in public places

In major tourist centers take precautions and watch out for personal belongings. You should put cash in different pockets.

In case of stealing of documents, tickets, credit cards - you need to make a statement to the police, then to the Embassy or Consulate of Azerbaijan. Report accompanying of the group (if there is any) about the need to restore ticket, block credit card.

 

Travels on the tour bus

For your safety, it is strictly forbidden to move through the cabin during the movement, as well as smoking and using alcohol in the cabin. Hot drinks (tea, coffee) in the bus will NOT be prepared. During journeys, every 3-3.5 hours will be sanitary stop, where You will be able to buy hot drinks in the cafes. In sanitary purposes and taking into account the ecological comfort of the group, even if the toilet will be inside the bus - it will NOT be used (there will be regular sanitary stops).

Regulation of air conditioner in the heating mode or cooling carried out through the team leader and bus drivers (because air conditioning system is overall, interests and wishes of other tourists are taking into account).

The bus stop is pre-calculated in the tour program and carried out only in special places (except for emergencies). The team leader must previously inform about the place, time and duration of stops. Stops at will or whim of tourists are not provided
